Where to Stay in Pattaya

Veranda Resort Pattaya Na Jomtien -MGallery is a beachfront hotel in a laid-back section of Pattaya. The 145-room hotel has four food and beverage outlets. Also, it has a free-form swimming pool overlooking the beach. Other facilities include a gym, a spa, and a kids’ club.

Why I’m Here …

I spent a month visiting Thailand. Following 10 days in Bangkok, I took a taxi to Pattaya. And Pattaya is the closest major beach resort to the Thai capital

First, I spent two wonderful nights at the Amari Ocean Pattaya, a five star property. The hotel was located across the street from Pattaya Beach.

Second, I spent two nights at Chezzotel Pattaya. And the hotel was  located in a less touristy part of town.

While checking out of the hotel, I had the front desk book a ride on Uber to the Veranda Resort Pattaya Na Jomtien -MGallery.

The hotel was in the Na Jomtien part of Pattaya. In fact, I had never been to this part of town before.

Veranda Resort Pattaya hosted me for two nights in exchange for this hotel review.

Following a 20 to 30 minute trip, I arrived at the hotel. There was a dramatic water treatment at the hotel’s drop-off point. And a beautifully lit staircase led to the open air lobby.

In fact, the space was open and welcoming. I was particularly struck by the beautiful womb-like rattan sofa.

Why didn’t I take a selfie of myself lounging in it? Oh, well! Maybe during my next stay!

Anyway, staff served me a welcome cocktail while I checked in. Then I was off to my comfortable room!

My Room at the Veranda Resort Pattaya …

The hotel has 145 rooms and suites. And I spent two nights in room 1308, a seascape room.

While it could accommodate up to three people, I had it all to myself!

My 38-square-meter room had a 4-square meter balcony.  And there was a king size bed, a day bed, and a pedestal table.

My room had a beige and turquoise colour scheme. There was an open-plan bathroom at one end. And there was a large free-standing bathtub. In addition, there was an enclosed shower.

Facilities included a LED flat screen television, coffee and tea-making equipment, and a mini-bar. Wi-fi was complimentary.

I particularly liked the Thann toiletries! In fact, Thann happens to be my favourite brand!

Breakfast at the Veranda Resort Pattaya

Breakfast was served at The Deck, an all-day dining restaurant. There was an extensive buffet with both Thai and international dishes.

I particularly liked the noodle bar, which looked like one of the street stalls that populate Thai cities.

The Food and Beverage Outlets

The Veranda Resort Pattaya had four food and beverage outlets. The Deck served the breakfast buffet. It was also open for lunch and dinner. And it had both indoor and outdoor seating.

Waves overlooked the swimming pool. It served light snacks and beverages such as smoothies. It was open for lunch.

The Glass Room was an espresso bar. It served yummy pastries and other snacks. Since my room didn’t have a suitable spot to work, this served as my office.

I Sea Sky was the hotel’s signature eatery. It was open for dinner on week nights. But on weekends, it was open for both lunch and dinner.

Located atop the hotel, it offered sweeping views of the beach and the ocean. And it had both indoor and outdoor seating.

The hotel had a large free-form infinity swimming pool. In fact, it  two sections. In addition, there were several built-in lounge chairs.

Other facilities included an artificial beach, a water slider, a sand pit, bubble jets, and a water curtain feature.

The swimming pool was open from 7 am to 7 pm.

The Gym

The gym had resistance training equipment and free weights. Also, there were cardio-vascular machines.  In addition, there was a small outdoor cool dip.

The Location

Veranda Resort Pattaya Na Jomtien -MGallery is located in a relatively secluded section of Pattaya. And it overlooks the ocean!

The hotel is 126 kilometers from Bangkok’s  Suvarbhumi International Airport. And the drive takes about 1 hour and 35 minutes.

The hotel is 34 kilometers from U-Tapao-Rayong Pattaya International Airport. The drive takes about 45 minutes.

There is a shuttle van from the Sofitel So Bangkok. The 147-kilometer ride takes about 2 hours and 10 minutes.

Finally, the 150-kilometer bus ride from Bangkok’s Ekamai Bus Terminal takes just over 2 hours.

The Verdict …

The hotel was lovely, and I enjoyed my stay. I particularly liked the breakfast buffet and the espresso bar. The muffins were yummy.

My room was well-furnished and comfortable. However, as a travel blogger I spend a lot of time on line.

Since my room was targeted at leisure travelers rather than business travelers, it didn’t have a good spot to set up my computer. Probably, this would not be a problem for most guests.

But I needed a good spot to surf the net, write, and manage photos. And I found an excellent solution: the espresso bar! Actually, it offered a pleasant working environment. But it was hard resisting all those yummy pastries!
