ADD+ All Day Dining Hong Kong

An all-day dining restaurant, ADD+ is short for All Day Dining Plus. Overlooking Victoria Harbour, the casual eatery serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And it serves global cuisine with a focus on Asian favourites. In addition to a spacious dining room, there is an inviting bar at the entrance. Most importantly, there is outdoor seating with a fabulous view of Victoria Harbour and the Hong Kong skyline.

The Back Story

ADD+ is one of three food and beverage outlets at the M+ museum of global visual culture in the West Kowloon Cultural District on the Kowloon Peninsula in Hong Kong. In addition, the museum has a private club. Click here for my first-hand review: M+ Lounge,

The West Kowloon Cultural District is a 40-acre site built on reclaimed land. And it features a host of cultural facilities as well as accommodation, dining outlets, performance venues – the list goes on.

While not yet complete, the district’s cultural facilities already include an Art Park, Freespace, the Hong Kong Palace Museum, M+, and Xiqu Centre, where Chinese opera performances are held. Furthermore, additional facilities are under construction.

The Menu

Overlooking Victoria Harbour, ADD+ All Day Dining serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And it serves global cuisine with a focus on Asian favourites.

The restaurant serves an extensive East Meets West menu. So you can expect Asian dishes with Western touches. And Western dishes with Asian touches.

You will find everything from dim sum, noodles, rice plates, and congee to appetizers, snacks, soups, salads, and sandwiches. In addition, there are pizzas, pastas, grilled meats, curries – the list goes on. Plus: Eastern and Western desserts!

And why not try grab-and-go for a picnic overlooking the harbour?

My Dinner

I dined alone, starting with a salad, moving on to a “snack”, and finishing with a dessert, which was washed down with an espresso.

The Salad

Avocado Mixed Berries Garden Salad with Soft Poached Egg – if only this dish tasted half as good as it looked! There were blackberries, raspberries, cherry tomatoes, almonds, and pumpkin seeds together with mixed salad greens and honey mustard dressing and another red dressing, which wasn’t listed on the menu. Plus: it was large enough to share. HK$158.

The Snack

Hand Shredded Chicken with Sesame Sauce – as the name suggests, this dish consisted of hand-shredded chicken dressed in a delightful sesame sauce. Plus, there were shreds of cucumber and a few salad leaves. In fact, this was a light, refreshing, and very satisfying dish. And I would definitely order it again. HK$98.

The Dessert

Crème Brulee with Vanilla Ice Cream – I don’t have much of a sweet tooth, but I must say, this dessert could make a convert out of me. The crème brulee is feast for the senses. And I absolutely loved it. Moreover, the vanilla ice, scattering of crunchy stuff, and swirl of dark chocolate were the perfect accompaniments. And I washed it down with a double espresso. HK$88.

The Venue and Service

You enter ADD+ All Day Dining through an attractive and spacious bar. And the dining room is comfortable and spacious. But the real draw is the outdoor dining area – a rare find in Hong Kong. Moreover, the sweeping views of Victoria Harbour and the Hong Kong skyline are absolutely magnificent.

Regarding the service, it was a bit lax. But that seems to be par for the course in Hong Kong.

The Verdict

The menu was extensive, the dining room was spacious, and the views of Victoria Harbour and the Hong Kong skyline were expansive. If only it had been a warm evening, I would have opted to sit outdoors.

I loved the hand shredded chicken with sesame sauce. And I adored the crème brulee with vanilla ice cream. But I only liked the avocado and mixed berries salad. The salad itself was delicious. But the two salad dressings didn’t do it justice. So I’m open to trying another salad on my next visit. And with the extensive menu, I’m sure I’ll find other dishes that I love.

I’m definitely coming back. Situated in the heart of the Kowloon Cultural District, the location is hard to beat. In fact, his might just might be my new go-to restaurant in Kowloon.

I give ADD+ Add Day Dining an enthusiastic thumb’s up!
