United Airlines inaugurates nonstop service between San Francisco and Tel Aviv, It is the first ever nonstop airline service between the West Coast of the United States and Israel. Flights will operate three times a week.
United Airlines flight 954 will depart San Francisco International Airport at 8 pm and arrive in Tel Avi the next day at 8:10 pm. Flight time will be 14 hours and 10 minutes.
United will operate service to Tel Aviv from San Francisco three times weekly on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
On the return, United flight 955 will depart Tel Aviv at 12:55 a.m. on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, arriving in San Francisco at 6 am the same day (all times local). Flight times will be 15 hours five minutes.
The service will operate for several weeks in June and July with Boeing 777 aircraft. Then Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft will be deployed on the route.

United Airlines has served Israel longer than any other U.S. airline. The carrier has served Tel Aviv continuously since 1999.
The airline currently flies two times a day between Newark Liberty International Airport and Tel Aviv. Newark Airport is closer to mid-town Manhattan than LaGuarida or JFK. The carrier operates Boeing 777 aircraft on the route.
