A Chinese air carrier plans to launch a new airline route to Vancouver, British Columbia, and three U.S. carriers plan to launch new airline routes linking two California cities with five cities in Greater China.
Growing commercial ties and increasing demand from leisure travelers are encouraging airlines to launch new routes between Greater China and the West Coast of the United States and Canada.
American Airlines, Delta Airlines, and United Airlines of the United States and Xiamen Airlines of China have announced plans to add flights between Greater China and two cities in the United States and one city in Canada.

San Francisco to Xi’an
United Airlines will launch non-stop seasonal service between 8 May and 27 October between Xi’an, China, and San Francisco, California. The airline will operate Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft on the route. The airline will be the first U.S. air craft to serve Xi’an, which is home to the terra cotta warriors.
San Francisco to Hangzhou
United Airlines will launch non-stop service three times a week between Hangzhou, China, and San Francisco, California, on 13 July 2016. The airline will will operate Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft on the route. Marco Polo described Hangzhou as the world’s most beautiful city.
Los Angeles to Hong Kong
American Airlines will launch non-stop daily service between Hong Kong and Los Angeles, California, on 7 September 2016. The airline will operate Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on the route. The carrier already flies non-stop between Shanghai and Los Angeles.
Vancouver to Xiamen
Xiamen Airlines will launch non-stop service three times a week between Xiamen, China, and Vancouver, British Columbia on 25 July 2016. More Chinese airlines serve Vancouver International Airport than any other airport in Canada.

Delta Air Lines will launch non-stop daily service between Beijing, China, and Los Angeles, California, on 16 December 2016. The airline will operate Boeing 777-200ER aircraft on the route. The airline launched non-stop service between Shanghai, China, and Los Angeles, in July 2015.
