An exclusive all-villa resort in Phuket has launched a lavish three-night package that includes dinner served with a bottle of one of the world's rarest wines!
Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas has launched ‘Taste of the Suite Life’ Package, which includes a lavish dinner served with one of the world's top Burgundies.
The package includes three nights’ accommodation in a Royal Villa and a Dining by Design dinner, which will be served with one of the rarest bottles of wine in the world, a 1990 Domaine Romanee Conti Burgundy, which was chosen by the resort’s award-wining Sommelier, Jirachai Sethisakko.
At auction, a bottle of the wine can sell for upwards of THB 700,000 Thai baht, or US$20,000!
“Initially, this is aromatically tight and closed, but after two hours, it absolutely explodes from the glass with a breathtaking panoply of Asian spices, exotic fruit aromas and a touch of earth followed by rich, lush, almost opulent flavors that melt in the mouth and coat the palate with a layer of velvet on the fantastically long finish,” says Wine Guru Allen Meadows.
“This is a dramatic wine in every sense of the word yet it's not at all showy but rather discreet and understated. I particularly like the sense of inner power and purity of expression and this is as good a post '45 RC as I ever hope to drink.”
The Dining by Design dinner can be experienced on the beachfront lawn at sunset, on a raised platform surrounded by shallow water flowing from the infinity pool, reclining on Thai triangular cushions in a poolside sala, or in The Tasting Room wine cellar.
The menu ranges from seafood to Royal Thai cuisine, other kinds of Asian dishes, Italian cuisine, and flame grilled meats.
Daily breakfasts at La Sala, the resort’s signature restaurant, are included in the package.
The Royal Villa has 67 square metre private pool with spacious timber deck and a floating sala, or covered outdoor room.
There is an in-pool tub, which can be laced with flowers and surrounded by candles and an aromatic oil burner. A traditional Loy Krathong floating flower ceremony can also be arranged.
Bookings for the package can be arranged through 25 December 2016.
Anantara Mai Khao is an all-villa resort set around a tropical lagoon along Mai Khao Beach on Phuket’s Sunset Coast.
There are 91 villas, each with its own pool.
Other facilities include an Anantara Spa, an infinity swimming pool by the beach, a cooking school, and several food and beverage outlets.
Trips to the Simian Islands can be arranged.
