Bali 101: Passports and Visas

Travel Basics

NEEDS TO BE UPDATED!

All in-bound travelers must have a passport that is valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival as well as proof of onward or return passage.

Americans, Australians, Brits, Canadians, Kiwis, and 58 other nationalities can obtain visas on arrival. But it will cost you 35 greenbacks.

What the travel guides tell you is the procedure takes 3 or 4 minutes. What they don’t tell you is that you sometimes have to wait 20 to 30 minutes in line before you reach the counter.

After obtaining your visa, you then have to wait in another slow-moving line to clear customs. For a small fee, you will be escorted to an express line. Some hotels will send a greeter that will wait in line for you.
