AccorHotels has opened its third Novotel hotel in Eastern Jiangsu province, the Novotel Suzhou SIP, which is located in the heart of the 288 square metre Suzhou Industrial Park.
The Suzhou Industrial Park comprises industrial, commercial, residential, and recreational elements.
Hyatt Regency, InterContinental, Kempinski, Renaissance, Crowne Plaza, Courtyard by Marriott, and Howard Johnson are among the major international hotel brands have properties in the Suzhou Industrial Park.
Located within the Suzhou Industrial Park, the Novotel Suzhou SIP is the latest hotel to open in the park.
The 307-room hotel is connected to the Suzhou International Expo Centre, which has a gross floor area of 255,000 square metres.
The two-storey facility is said to be the world’s largest uninterrupted exhibition space.
A metro station entrance is located next to the hotel.
The hotel overlooks Jinji Lake and Moon Harbour. It is within walking distance of the Suzhou Culture and Arts Centre, shopping malls, and several other popular tourist attractions.
The hotel has five food and beverage outlets, including The Square, an all-day dining restaurant serving international buffets and a-la-carte menus, and a Chinese restaurant serving Cantonese cuisine and Jiangsu cuisine.
Other hotel facilities include an indoor heated swimming pool, a fitness centre with a yoga studio and sauna rooms, a pillar-less ballroom, and five meeting rooms.
Formerly spelled Soochow in English, Suzhou is 100 kilometres, or 62 miles, northwest of Shanghai, China’s largest city.
In addition to being an important centre of industry and commerce, Suzhou is also one of China’s oldest, most celebrated, and most beautiful cites.
Suzhou is crisscrossed with canals. There are stone bridges, elegant pagodas, and beautifully landscaped gardens.
Dating back as far as the Northern Song Dynasty (960 – 1127), the classical gardens of Suzhou were mostly built by scholars.
As many as 200 of them were built, and 69 of them have survived. Eight of the finest gardens were declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1997 and 2000
Suzhou has an urban population of 5,468,300 people.
