Duffy Friend ‘Cookie’ Makes Global Debut at Hong Kong Disneyland!

Disney fans from around the world crowd Main Street U.S.A. at Hong Kong Disneyland to welcome Cookie, Duffy’s newest friend. The playful puppy is a fun-loving foodie. Her arrival is being celebrated with snacks, desserts, buffet dinners – and exclusive merchandise!

Hong Kong Disneyland

In yet another global first, Hong Kong Disneyland welcomes yet another Disney character to the growing gaggle of Disney Friends.

Cookie, the newest friend of Duffy, made her global debut at the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, where the adorable female puppy was welcomed by more than 300 adoring fans.

Wearing a chef’s hat, Cookie is a dedicated foodie. She joins other Duffy friends ShellieMay, Gelatoni, and StellaLou.

Duffy arrived at Hong Kong Disneyland in 2010 and was joined by ShellieMay four years later.

Both teddy bears, the ursine twosome were joined by Gelatoni in 2016 and StellaLou in 2017. Gelatoni is a feline artist; StellaLou, a bunny rabbit, is a dancer.

Duffy and Friends are also popular at Disney theme parks in the United States and Japan.

So what is the story behind Duffy?

Minnie Mouse made Mickey Mouse a teddy bear so that he would never be lonesome. Mickey Mouse loved the handmade bear and named him Duffy.

The rest, as the saying goes, is history!

Mickey and Duffy have traveled the world together, sharing many exciting adventures.

Disney fans will be able to meet Cookie in person at the Main Street Cinema on Main Street U.S.A., where Fujifilm will present “Main Street Cinema: My Journeys with Duffy”.

Cookie will be welcomed every day the Main Street Cinema, where fans will be able to get up close and personal with the playful pup. Fans will also get to learn about Cookie’s new ideas about food.

A set of Cookie-themed Magical Coin Press machines will be installed in front of the Cinema in July.

Collectors can shop till they drop at Hong Kong Disneyland, where exclusive Cookie merchandise will be on sale in celebration of the playful pup’s arrival.

More than 50 kinds of Cookie merchandise will be introduced this year, and all of it will be exclusive to Hong Kong Disneyland.

Cookie collectibles will include plush toys, limited edition pins, accessories, headwear, stationery, housewares, and apparel.

More Duffy and Friends merchandise will be introduced throughout the year to keep fans coming back for more.

Desserts and snacks inspired by Cookie – did she have a paw in the recipes? – will be served at various food and beverage outlets across the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort.

About 30 food and beverage items will be served at F&B outlets within the theme park itself and at the three Disney resort hotels, which are located nearby on Lantau Island.

Included will be “Cookie’s Afternoon Tea Set,” “Cookie’s Mango Lagoon”, and “Cookie’s Choco Cup,” which will be served at the Main Street Corner Cafe.

Other Cookie-themed delicacies will include “Cookie’s Cheese Cake,” “Cookie Blueberry Cupcake”, and a range of desserts with adorable images of Cookie, such as a Vanilla Almond Cookie.

Chef Mickey Family Day Dinner Buffet

An exclusive “Chef Mickey Family Day” Dinner Buffet with Cookie and Duffy inspired desserts will be served on weekends at the Chef Mickey buffet restaurant at Disney’s Hollywood Hotel.

Complimentary shuttle buses link the three Disney hotels with the Disney theme park. They depart at frequent intervals, and the journey between the hotels and to and from the theme park only takes a few minutes.
