The eco-friendly bar serves local brands as much as possible.

Sky Bar is one of 7 food and beverage outlets at the 1 Hotel Haitang Bay.

Committed to the locavore movement, all of the hotel’s outlets source locally as many ingredients as possible.

And if serves an eclectic menu of sushi, skewers, tapas, and craft cocktails.

As the eco-friendly Hainan bar is located atop the environmentally friendly beachfront hotel, Sky Bar overlooks the ocean.

And that makes it the perfect spot to watch the sun set into the South China Sea.

And trust me, I have been to Hainan Island, and the sunsets are magnificent!

In fact, the bar opens for sunset cocktails and dinner. And there is live music in the evening.

Eco-Friendly Cocktails

Cocktails are crafted from locally sourced ingredients whenever possible.

The bar serves an assortment of cocktails that are both yummy and ecologically friendly.

In fact, most of the ingredients are procured on Hainan Island.

And that means they offer guests a unique taste sensation. In other words, something they could not experience at home.

What’s more, because the ingredients are produced locally, it significantly reduces the bar’s carbon footprint!

Farmer’s Delight

Xinglong Tiki

Flor de Caña Spresso is a dry coffee liqueur made with 7 year-aged rum. And it is topped with spiced banana and golden pineapple to make this Xinglong Tiki.

As an added attraction, hotel guests will soon be able to visit the farm!

Sustainable Practices

In keeping with 1 Hotel Haitang Bay’s commitment to sustainability, the bar adheres to the best locavore practices of the slow food and farm-to-table movements.

In fact, it uses locally sourced ingredients as much as possible.

For example, the bar uses locally harvested strawberries, watermelon, basil, and mint. In addition, it uses such native ingredients as yellow passion fruit and prickly pears.

Furthermore, it combines them with locally produced beverages such as Xinglong coffee, sweet potato liquor, and baiju. To clarify, baijiu, is a kind of liquor distilled from sorghum.

Moreover, the bar carries out ecologically friendly initiatives with a goal of achieving zero waste as soon as possible.

For example, rather than throwing pineapple pulp and watermelon rinds away, bartenders use them as cocktail ingredients.

Otherwise, they use them as compost or feed them to livestock at the hotel’s organic farm.
