The Back Story – Fam Time Bangkok

When I first arrived in Bangkok, I was focused on Thai cuisine. But every time I walked past Fam Time Bangkok, which was a two-minute walk from my hotel, it was full of locals.
It was obvious that Fam Time Bangkok was the most popular eatery on Sukhumvit Soi 16, and it seemed to rely on repeat business rather than walk-in traffic. Did it have a unique selling proposition?
Remember that old saying about Rome? I decided that since I was in Bangkok, I should do what the Bangkokians do!

So I decided to give Fam Time BKK a try, and it was love at first bite. I became a regular during my extended stay at Jono Bangkok Asok Hotel, eating there several times a week.
If there was a USP, it might have been the fact that the pasta and pizza dough was made fresh daily!
Restaurant Overview – Fam Time Bangkok

Fam Time is a family style Italian restaurant with four outlets in Bangkok. And the outlet on Sukhumvit Soi 16 is renowned for its eclectic selection of Italian dishes.
Whether you’re craving mouthwatering home-made pasta or hand-crafted fresh-dough pizza, this popular Italian restaurant has it all. The inviting ambiance enhances the dining experience, creating a perfect setting for quick bites and family get-togethers.
And make sure not to leave without indulging in their yummy desserts!
The Menu – Fam Time Bangkok

The menu at Fam Time Bangkok runs from appetizers, soups, and salads to pasta, ravioli, fresh dough pizza, and home-made pasta as well as chicken, pork, salmon, and rice dishes.
Not sure why they put “steak” in the name and on the signage as steaks do not figure prominently on the menu. In fact, the only “steaks” I could find were pork steaks and salmon steaks. Not a beef steak anywhere to be found!
So if you’re in the mood for a thick, juicy sirloin, this is not the right place for you!
Recommended Dishes – Fam Time Bangkok

The creamy pumpkin soup (115 baht) at Fam Time Bangkok was the perfect way to start a mouthwatering meal!

This was my absolute favorite main course at Fam Time Bangkok! The grilled salmon served atop a bed of fettuccine in a creamy pesto sauce with a slice of fresh lemon on the side (255 baht) was the perfect balance of flavors!

The pappadelle salmon (275 baht) at Fam Time Bangkok was served in a pink sauce comprising tomatoes and cream. It was absolutely delicious!
The Pepper Pork Steak (175 baht) at Fam Time Bangkok consisted of a grilled pork collar swimming in a zesty pepper sauce. It was paired with potatoes, baby carrots, cherry tomatoes, and mushrooms.

The spicey grilled chicken (185 baht) at Fam Time Bangkok was slathered in a spicey sauce reminiscent of an American style barbecue. It was served with French fried sweet potatoes, a mixed green salad, and a yummy salad dressing.

The grilled chicken with mashed potatoes (165 baht) were served with string beans. The buttery mashed potatoes were absolutely delicious!

I found myself ordering this dish and over again. I usually prefer ravioli stuffed with meat. But I found the spinach and ricotta ravioli swimming in marinara sauce (215 baht) irresistible!

I ordered the banana milkshake (125 baht) out of curiosity because I detest bananas, and I’ve never been a fan of milkshakes. But I believe in keeping an open mind.
I was blown away!!!
It was light, refreshing, and screaming with flavor! The shake was swirled with caramel (really?); there were crumbled graham crackers (digestives, if you’re British) sprinkled at the button and on top; a couple of banana slices, and a sprig of rosemary.
After sampling this milkshake, I never ordered any of the other beverages on the Fam Time Bangkok menu again. I found this shake irresistible! Who needs dessert?

I didn’t usually order dessert when I ate lunch or dinner at Fam Time, but I did stop by for afternoon tea a few times, opting for the panna cotta with strawberry and raspberry sauce (95 baht), washing it down with a Thai iced tea (65 baht).
The Ambiance – Fam Time Bangkok

Fam Time Bangkok is a cozy Italian restaurant perfect for solitary diners, friends dining together, and family gatherings. There are two levels. The ground floor offers a view of the street, and the upper floor has views of a garden in back.
The Verdict – Fam Time Bangkok

Fam Time Bangkok serves delicious food in welcoming surroundings at reasonable prices. I give the laid-back Italian eatery an enthusiastic two thumbs up!
The Location – Fam Time Bangkok
Fam Time Bangkok – 25-5 Soi Sukhumvit 16, Asoke, Khlong Toei, Bangkok. Other locations at Terminal21 Rama 3, Siam Square Soi 7, and The Mall Bangkapi.
Both the Sukhumvit 16 and Terminal21 locations are within walking distance of the Asoke BTS and Sukhumvit MRT stations. But the Terminal21 outlet would easiest to reach if you are taking public transport while the Sukhumvit Soi 16 location might be easier if you are arriving by taxi.

Famtime is also my favorite restaurant. I just had it yesterday!! Another menus worth trying are Truffle Pizza and Tomato sauce ravioli. Thanks for the comprehensive review!
I spent most of my time in Bangkok at a little boutique hotel across the street and I ate there COUNTLESS times!!! The hotel was called Jono Bangkok Asoke Hotel and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I got to know that neighborhood well and spent lots of time at Terminal21.
