Night to Remember: Top 10 Titanic Memorial Sites

Travel Destinations

On this date 100 years ago (10 April 2012), the RMS Titanic, known as the “unsinkable” ship, set sail from Southampton, England, for New York City in the United States. It was the ship’s maiden voyage and, sadly, its last. The Titanic never reached its destination.

After four days at sea, the Titanic – on the night of April 14, 1912 – collided with an iceberg in the icy waters of the North Atlantic and sank within just two and one half hours with the loss of more than 1,500 lives. It has been poignantly dubbed, “A Night To Remember”.
