Young Tampa Bay Rays fans get VIP treatment at this year’s Tampa Bay Rays Fan Fest, with baseball players reading to kids as part of a Tampa Bay Times initiative aimed at encouraging youngsters to read
Tampa Bay Rays fans itching for baseball season to start can take heart. The Tampa Bay Rays Fan Fest will take place on Saturday 27 February, giving Rays fans the chance to hang out with other baseball fans and get up close and personal with baseball players.
There will be a Kids’ Interactive Zone, a Rays Charity Yard Sales, a batting cage, speed pitch, player and fan interaction – the list goes on.
Tampa Bay Rays players will also read to kids as part of a Tampa Bay Times initiative called “Reading with the Rays,” which is aimed at encouraging kids read.

From 11 am to 4 pm on Saturday 27 February at Tropicana Field, One Tropicana Drive, St. Petersburg, Florida.
