Strawberries are at their best at different times of the year in different places, and they grow best in places that have warm sunny days and cold foggy nights.

As a result, California, with its many different climates, is the world’s largest producer of strawberries.

Fully 88% of the strawberries grown in the United States are grown in California, and they are in season somewhere in the Golden State 12 months a year.

Spain comes in second in terms of production and first in terms of exports. The peak picking season for strawberries in Spain runs from November through April.

The peak picking season in Japan, the world’s third largest producer of strawberries, runs from December to May.
