Taiwan: 80,000 Expected at Taipei’s 12th Annual Pride Parade in Late October


Tens of thousands of celebrants are expected at Asia’s largest LGBT parade, which is scheduled for 25 October 2014 in Taipei, Taiwan. Several parties and other events are planned that weekend. 

Asia’s largest LGBT pride parade and party is scheduled for 24 – 26 October 2014.

Now in its 12th year, the festival is expected to attract more than 80,000 members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community and their supporters.

The parade will make its way through the streets of Taipei on the afternoon of 25 October.

The parade will start at Kaidagelan Boulevard and snake its way through the streets of Taipei to where it started. It takes about 2 hours to complete.

Following the parade, local and overseas performers will perform on stage. There will also be lots of stalls in support of gay charities and other organisations.

That night there will be lots of parties. One of the largest will be a W Taipei, one of several gay friendly hotels in the city.
