Disney’s Hollywood Hotel is one of the three hotels closest to Hong Kong Disneyland on Lantau Island. It has three food and beverage outlets, a large swimming pool, spacious grounds, and a spa. Free shuttles run frequently to the Disney theme park.

Where to Stay at Hong Kong Disneyland
One of three Disney hotels located near Hong Kong Disneyland, Disney’s Hollywood Hotel has an Art Deco theme, the dominant architectural style during Hollywood’s Golden Era.
The lines of Art Deco were boldly geometrical, and the colours were bright. There were also the exotic (if subtle) influences of ancient civilizations.
And – in an era when designers were striving to break loose from the fussiness of the Victorian area – there was lots of chrome, and cherry wood was frequently used.
All of these decorative elements are evident in the external and internal design of Disney’s Hollywood Hotel.
Subtle and not so subtle elements celebrating other aspects of Hollywood glamour dot the property – along with a host of “hidden Mickey Mouses”.
The Lobby …

Disney’s Hollywood Hotel has an Art Deco inspired lobby, with a spectacular mural celebrating Tinsel Town’s golden era on the wall behind the front desk.
The Food and Beverage Outlets …
Disney’s Hollywood Hotel has three food and beverage outlets, each with a different vibe and a different menu. They include …
Chef Mickey

Chef Mickey – an informal buffet style restaurant, Chef Mickey serves Chinese, pan-Asian, and international favourites at breakfast and dinner daily and a lunch buffet on Saturday, Sunday, and holidays.
Studio Lounge

Studio Lounge – offering a full menu of snacks and entrees, Studio Lounge also features a full service bar. Open for lunch, afternoon tea, dinner, and evening cocktails.
Hollywood and Dine

Hollywood and Dine – making a play on that iconic intersection in Southern California (Hollywood and Vine), Hollywood and Dine is a quick service eatery serving international snacks and dishes at breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
The Gift Shop …

Celebrity Gifts carries a full line of Disney-themed products, ranging from plush toys to souvenirs to apparel.
Before heading off to the theme park, you might want to check out what’s available at the gift shop in the hotelnso that you don’t buy something at the park that you could just as easily buy at the hotel.
My Room …

Disney’s Hollywood Hotel has 600 rooms. There are four room types, running from standard to sea view, deluxe, and premium.
All room types offer a choice of two double beds or one king size bed. Most rooms have double beds, which can accommodate up to four people.
I stayed in room 7636, which had two double beds and a view of a tree-filled garden and the Disney Explorers Lodge next door.
I was offered a Room Decoration Package, which included a door sticker, macaroons, bed runners, slippers, and balloons.
One of the beds had a collection of five Incredibles plush toys, a.k.a. stuffed animals. The other had Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse plush toys.
The Grounds …

Disney’s Hollywood Hotel is set amid beautifully landscaped gardens on the waterfront with sweeping views of the South Island Sea and the islands that dot it.
A sign spelling out “Hollywood Hotel” is reminiscent of the sign with 44-foot letters situated on Mount Lee in the Hollywood Hills area of Los Angeles, California.
The Facilities …
The hotel has two swimming pools, a heated indoor swimming pool and an outdoor swimming shaped like a piano.
There is also a playground and a spa.
The Activities …

Activities at Disney’s Hollywood Hotel include Movie Time with Goofy every morning at 10 am at the Studio Lounge as well as Recreation Arts and Crafts, a Journey to Hollywood, and Disney Movie Premier.
The Location …
Disney’s Hollywood Hotel is located on the waterfront of Lantau Island. The hotel is a 10 to 15 minutes’ drive from Hong Kong International Airport.
The hotel can be also be reached by public transport, including the MTR, bus, or taxi.
If you are coming by MTR, you should change from the Tung Chung line to the Disneyland Resort line at the Sunny Bay MTR station.
If you are coming from the airport by taxi, make sure to take a Lantau taxi, which will be blue.
If you are coming from the urban areas, you can take a red taxi. If you are coming from the New Territories, you should take a green taxi.
The Verdict
As a big fan of Art Deco, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Disney’s Hollywood Hotel.
I particularly liked Studio Lounge, with its yummy comfort food, signature cocktails, and dramatic design.
As for my room, it was comfortable enough, but the bathroom was a bit past its sell-by date.
MICE Showcase Media Tour
I was part of a MICE Showcase Media Tour, which was organized to familiarize journalists with the world-class facilities that Hong Kong Disneyland has to offer organizers of meetings, incentives, conferences, and events (MICE) as well as wedding planners.
Both the Hong Kong Disneyland theme park and the three Walt Disney Hotels located nearby were included in the tour.
Our group comprised journalists, food critics, and travel bloggers from China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
We spent a total of three days and two nights at the Hong Kong Disney resort, including one night at Disney’s Hollywood Hotel. We also enjoyed two meals at the hotel’s food and beverage outlets.
