COVID-19:
Hong Kong Disneyland reopens on February 19 as the government relaxes social-distancing rules amid declining new COVID-19 infections. Beauty and massage parlours, sports venues, fitness centres, and cinemas will also be allowed to reopen.

Social Distancing Measures
Strict social-distancing measures were implemented on 26 November 2020 as Hong Kong was hit with a fourth wave of infections, which saw the daily number of new cases hit triple digits.
With a relaxation of the measures, several types of businesses and government facilities will be allowed to reopen.
In addition to amusement parks such as Hong Kong Disneyland and Ocean Park, sports facilities, fitness centres, gaming arcades, beauty and massage parlours, bowling alleys, and ice skating rinks are allowed to resume operation.
However, bathhouses, bars, party rooms, karaoke venues, nightclubs, mahjong parlours, swimming pools, and beaches will remain shut pending further developments.
And the rule that only two persons can gather in public remains in force.
Under the previous social distancing measures, restaurants could only seat two persons per table. And they could only serve take-away and make deliveries after 6 pm.
Under the relaxed measures, eateries can now seat four diners per table. In addition, they can remain open to on-site dining until 10 pm.
Leave Home Safe App
However, the government is enacting new measures to help slow the spread of COVID-19. For example, employees of the newly reopened businesses must be tested every two weeks.
In addition, employees must check to make sure patrons use the government’s newly launched “Leave Home Safe” app.
Otherwise, they must provide their names and phone numbers for potential contact-tracing purposes.
To clarify, the Leave Home Safe app is designed to fight the coronavirus by assessing risk exposure.
Businesses, sports venues, and taxies must post a QR code for patrons to scan onto their mobile device.
In the event that someone has visited a venue at about the same time as a confirmed COVID-19 patient, they will receive a message indicating when and where the exposure might have taken place.
In addition, they will receive health advice and also be reminded to take precautionary measures and seek medical attention if needed.
Castle of Magical Dreams
While the new measures go into effect on 18 February, Hong Kong Disneyland postponed its reopening until the following day.
And surely, as Hong Kong relaxes social distancing, what parkgoers are looking forward to most is the chance to check out the park’s totally re-imagined castle.
In fact, Sleeping Beauty Castle has been transformed into the Castle of Magical Dreams, an entertainment hub with 13 spires celebrating 13 princesses and queens that have wished upon a star.

While the scaffolding came down in late September of 2020, its official launch was scheduled for December. Unfortunately, the park was not open at that time.
If You Plan to Visit the Park …
Whatever you do, don’t just hop on the MTR and head to the Sunny Bay MTR station!
Because of the coronavirus, Hong Kong Disneyland has implemented a series of measures to ensure the safety of park-goers and HKDL staff.
For example, you must purchase tickets in advance and reserve a visit up to seven days in advance.
Also, you must make a health declaration and provide your name and contact number as part of the reservation process.
