Several Macau hotels get hygiene certification from a prestigious certification body after instituting rigorous health safety and hygiene measures. The measures were designed to fight the spread of the COVID-19 virus in the former Portuguese enclave.

Five hotels in the Sands Resorts Macao group have received hygiene certification from Bureau Veritas after they adopting Sands SafeStay measures designed to to combat the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
In fact, the hotel group is the first hotel group in Macau to get certification from the prestigious body. Moreover, the measures exceeded the relevant local anti-epidemic regulations and requirements, the hotel group claims.
Bureau Veritas is French-based company. As it specializes in testing, inspection, and certification. Founded in 1828, it operates in a variety of sectors. These include building and infrastructure, agri-food and commodities, and other key industries.
Bureau Vertias worked with the Cleveland Clinic in the certification process. In fact, medical advisors reviewed and evaluated the safety and hygiene measures undertaken by the hotels in the group.
The Cleveland Clinic is an American academic medical center based in Cleveland, Ohio. QAnd itt runs numerous hospitals and health centres in three U.S. states.
The following Macau hotels get hygiene cerification from Bureau Veritas’ rigorous Safe Guard Hygiene Excellence and Safety Label protocol:

- The Parisian Macao
- The Plaza Macao
- Conrad Macao Cotai Strip
- Sands Macao
Sands StaySafe Programme


In fact, the Safe Guard Hygiene Excellence and Safety Label is a suite of services offered through Bureau Veritas’ “Restart Your Business with BV” programme to ensure businesses restart operations safely.
Importantly, it an extra layer of assurance to not only to hotel guests. In addition, it reassures hotel employees and hotel suppliers, as well.
The Sands SafeStay programme was launched in early 2020. While the initiatife comprises hundreds of elements and a range of precautions, it targets three key areas: sanitatization, prevention, and contactless services.
The Sands StaySafe Programme was part of an agreement between Las Vegas Sands and Bureau Veritas to conductfull audits of Sands properties around the world.
In fact, the prestigious body inspected everything from hotel rooms to laundry processing, storage, delivery routes for in-room dining, kitchens, and more.

Sands China Ltd operates a group of integrated resorts in Macau. As a former Portuguese territory, Macau is a one hour’s jetfoil ride from Hong Kong.
In fact, the hotels are clustered along the Cotai Strip, which links the outlying islands of Taipa and Coloane. Because of a massive land reclamation project, Taipa and Coloane were joined, forming a contiguous land mass.
Together, the hotels have a total of 12,500 hotel rooms and suites. In addition to hotels, there are several casinos. Moreover, there are approximately 850 retail outlets. Furthermore, there are world-class meeting and exhibition facilities.
Finally, there aremore than 150 food and beverage outlets. In fact, the dining options run from opulent Michelin-starred restaurants to food courts and fast-food outlets.
