Le Meridien is a French-based hotel group. In fact, it has more than 100 hotels and resorts in more than 30 countries and territories around the world.

Resort Overview


Le Meridien Maldives Resort is located on Thilamaafushi Island at the southern tip of Lhaviyani Atoll in the Maldives. In fact, it is surrounded by a vast lagoon.
Most importantly for eco-tourists, there are numerous coral reefs alive with exotic marine life. And they include pods of Manta Rays and turtles.
As an eco-resort, the hotel is committed to safeguarding a “low carbon footprint” across its operations. In fact, it focuses on renewable energy, waste reduction, and the use of renewable resources.
Regarding its location, the hotel is a 35-minute seaplane ride from Velana (MLE) International Airport in Malé.

Le Meridien Resort Maldives has 141 villas and bungalows. And they run from one to three bedrooms. Included are beach villas, beach bungalows, lagoon villas, and over-water villas. In fact, many units have beach pools. And other have over-water pools.

Le Meridien Maldives Resort has six food and beverage outlets. And each one has a different vibe and a different menu.
- Tabemasu – as the resort’s signature restaurant, Tabemsau serves a Western and Japanese menu. And it opens for dinner only.
- Riviera – as the resort’s adults only bar, Riviera overlooks an oceanfront infinity pool and the beach. And it opens for lunch and dinner.
- Waves Café -with a “mindful eating space”, the cafe serves healthy and nourishing dishes. And it opens for lunch only.
- Velaa Bar + Grill – overlooking the resort’s main swimming pool, it serves crafted cocktails and light dishes. And it opens for lunch and dinner.
- Latitude – as a “social gathering place”, Latitude is a coffee house serving custom-brewed coffees, aperitifs, and small plates.
- Turquoise – overlooking the beach, Turquoise serves local and international favourites. As an all-day dining restaurant, it opens for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Resort Facilities

Le Meridien Resort Maldives has a full-service spa. And it offers a full menu of spa treatments. In addition, there are two outdoor swimming pools and a children’s pool.
Moreover, the resort has a fitness center with cardiovascular equipment and free weights. However, there is a charge for fitness classes.
