Located on the main island of Mahe, the Seychelles L’Escale Resort Marina and Spa has 25 rooms, a restaurant, a pool bar, a spa, and two swimming pools. In addition to offering many activities, the hotel has a marina accommodating up to 19 superyachts.

L’Escale Resort Marina and Spa opened in January 2021. And it took three years to build.

In fact, the luxurious resort represents a return of Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) to Africa’s smallest, but richest country.

To clarify, SLH is a community of luxurious independent boutique hotels. And there are currently more than 520 SHL hotels in more than 90 countries around the world.

Seychelles is an island nation located off the east coast of Africa. In fact, it is an archipelago comprising 115 islands.

Not only is the Seychelles Africa’s smallest country. In addition, it has the continent’s highest nominal per capita GDP. And its population totals 98,462 people.

Mahe is the country’s largest island. And it is also home to Victoria, the nation’s capital. In addition, the country’s largest airport is also located on the island.

Re-opening of the Seychelles

Effective 25 March 2021, the Seychelles started welcoming visitors from around the world. And they don’t have to show proof of vaccination.

In fact, the republic is only requiring travelers to present proof of a negative polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test taken 72 hours prior to departure.

Not only will visitors not face quarantine. In addition, they will be able to move freely within the Seychelles during their stay.

Moreover, there will be no minimum stay. However, visitors will still have to follow standard public health measures.

For example, they must wear face masks in public areas. They must practise social distancing. And they must wash or sanitize their hands regularly.

In fact, the hotel is 15 kilometers from Seychelles International Airport. And the drive takes to the airport takes about half an hour.

The hotel has 25 rooms with mountain or ocean views. And rooms have either an open terrace or a lounge.

And all rooms have king-size beds. Moreover, they have spacious bathrooms with organic amenities.

The resort has an all-day dining restaurant serving international cuisine with a Creole touch. In addition, the resort has a bar overlooking the main swimming pool.

The hotel has two swimming pools. To clarify, it has a main pool and a heated infinity pool next to the spa.

In addition to the pool, the spa has treatment rooms, a  steam room, hammam, sauna, thermal mud treatment, a heated infinity pool, a Jacuzzi, and relaxation areas.

Finally, the hotel has a state-of-the-art marina. In fact, it is the largest marina in the Seychelles. And it can accommodate up to 19 superyachts, which can measure up to 100 meters in length.
