Chicago Cubs Team History

The Chicago Cubs play in the Central division of the National League of Major League Baseball (MLB). And they are one of two teams representing Chicago.

In fact, they were established in 1876. And they were one of the founding members of the National League.

In fact, the team originally called itself the Chicago White Stockings. But they changed their name to the Chicago Cubs in 1903.

The Chicago Cubs have won two East Division titles, four Central Division Titles, and 16 National League pennants.

Most importantly, they broke a lengthy championship drought winning the World Series in 2016.

In fact, the last time the Chicago Cubs won a National League championship was in 1945. And the last time they won a World Series was in 1908.

Friendly Confines

Affectionately known as the Friendly Confines, Wrigley Field is one of the most iconic ballparks in Major League Baseball.

In fact, it is the oldest baseball stadium in the National League. And it is the second oldest stadium in Major League Baseball. To clarify, only Fenway Park in Boston is older.

If you can’t get tickets to watch games in the stadium, you can still watch them in person from the rooftops of 11 nearby buildings., But they can be rented by groups.

Maybe the Cubs are playing on the road,  and maybe you don’t live in Chicago.
