Detroit Lions Team History
The Detroit Lions are a professional football team in the United States. And they compete in the North division of the National Football Conference (NFC) of the National Football League (NFL).
The team was founded in Portsmouth, Ohio, in 1930. Originally, and it was known as the Portsmouth Spartans. While it was successful on the field, it was not successful at the box office. So it moved to Detroit, Michigan, in 1934.
Having won four NFL championships, the Lions are tied for ninth place in terms of championships won among the 32 football teams. And that’s the good news.
However, the bad news is that the Detroit Lions haven’t won a championship since 1957. And only the Arizona Cardinals have suffered a longer NFL championship drought than the Lions.
In fact, the Detroit Lions are one of only four NFL teams that have never been to the Super Bowl. So you can forget about them winning it.
And it gets worse! In 2008. To clarify, the Detroit Lions had the dubious distinction of becoming the first team in the history of the league to lose all 16 regular-season games. And the record still stands!
But despite the Lions’ lack of success on the field, Lions fans are particularly loyal to their team. In fact, many fans think of themselves as the Pride of Detroit.

If You Are Going to Detroit
The Tin Lizzie is no longer the favored Detroit sports bar in Chicago. It was bought out. Simce that time it has declined greatly. It used to be packed shoulder to shoulder every Sunday with Lions fans. The new ownership is letting it decline rapidly. Often the game isn’t on and regulars sign in to their personal accounts to stream it. It has gotten so bad that most regulars have left. They don’t even open up the back side of the bar. While the front has plenty of room due to such low attendance. The new ownership is sucking every nickle and dime they can out of the bar. Letting it fall into shambles. Don’t get us started on how poor and unsanitary food is. Or how most beers on tap are skunked. You want a nice lions bar in Chicago Ironside has made the basement into the “Lions Den”. With specials for Lions fans. They treat their clients well instead of alienating everyone and getting boycotted
