Tampa Bay Rays Team History

The Tampa Bay Rays are a professional baseball team in the United States. In fact, they compete in the East Division of the American League of Major League Baseball.

The Rays were  were established in 1998 as an expansion team. Originally, they called themselves the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. In 2008, they shortened their name to the Tampa Bay Rays. And  they have been the Tampa Bay Rays ever since.

The Tampa Bay Rays have won three wild card berths. And they have won three East Division titles. Most importantly, they won their only American League pennant in 2008.

Unfortunately, the Rays have never won a World Series. Could this be their lucky year?

The Tampa Bay Rays play home games at Tropicana Field, a domed stadium  in St. Petersburg, Florida. The stadium is also known as The Trop.

    Great place to watch the Bucs, Lightning & Rays
    Watched 2020 Super Bowl there it was packed
    Also watched the Stanley Cup Final there and it was full of Bolts fans being the distant thunder
    The bar has 22 55″ HDTVs
    25 beers on draft as well as full liquor & wine
    Over 100 stools and chairs and 20 bar seats
    They also have 2 pool tables, multiple dart boards, jenga, golden tee, silver strike bowling & shuffleboard
    And the food is pretty good as well
    Most importantly they have a very attentive and friendly staff
