Washington Capitals Team History
The Washington Capitals are a professional ice hockey team in the United States. The Capitals play hockey in the Metropolitan Division of the Eastern Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL).
The Washington Capitals were founded in 1974. In fact, they were an expansion ice hockey team.
The Capitals have won 13 division championships. Furthermore, they have won three Presidents’ Trophies. In addition, they have won two conference championships.
Most importantly, they have won one Stanley Cup. And that was in 2018. Is it time for a repeat?
The Washington Capitals play home games at Capital One Arena in Washington, DC. They share the arena with the Washington Wizards of the National Basketball Association.
In fact, the Caps also share the arena with the men’s basketball team of Georgetown University.
The multipurpose facility is located in the Chinatown district of the Nation’s Capital. d it sits atop the the Gallery Place station of the Washington Metro.
