Sweeney Todd is a stylish men’s salon in one of the poshest parts of Stockholm, Sweden. It has all the trappings of a traditional men’s barber shop, with a decidedly Swedish flair.
As I was exploring the Larkstaden section of Stockholm, I stumbled across a whimsical display in a shop window: a plastic foot going into a meat grinder.
First I took a picture. Then I looked inside: it was a very well appointed traditional men’s barber shop.
Then I noticed the sign: Sweeney Todd.
As you remember, Sweeney Todd was a hit Broadway musical based on the infamous story of Benjamin Barker and his fellow tenant, Mrs Lovett.
The gruesome twosome set up a sinister barber shop on Fleet Street in London, England. The hit musical was based on their macabre tale.
Unfortunately, I didn’t need a haircut. But I went inside anyway, chatted with the personable Hakan Ejderdun, and took a few pictures.
If, perchance, I need a haircut at the end of my four week stay in Sweden, I will DEFINTELY return to Sweeny Todd for a haircut!
