Chicago White Sox Team History

The Chicago White Sox are a professional baseball team in United States. And the White Sox compete in the Central division of the American League of Major League Baseball (MLB).
In fact, the White Sox are one of two MLB franchises in Chicago. To clarify, the Chicago Cubs also call the Windy City home.
The White Sox were established in 1901. To begin with, the team called itself the Chicago White Stockings. But they changed their name to the Chicago White Sox in 1904. And they have called themselves the Chicago White Sox ever since.
The Chicago White Sox have won five division titles. Furthermore, they won a wild card berth in 2020.
In addition, they have won six AL pennants. Most importantly, the ChiSox have won three World Series titles.
In fact, they won their first World Series in 1906. Next, they won the World Series in 1917. Most recently, they won the World Series in 2005.
Chicago White Sox Stadiums

The Chicago White Sox play home games at Guaranteed Rate Field in Chicago’s South Side. And for this reason, some fans call them the South Siders.
Originally, the Chicago White Sox played home games at Comiskey Park. And they played games there for 81 years.
However, that stadium was torn down to make room for a parking lot for a new stadium, which opened in 1991.
When the new stadium opened, it was called Comiskey Park (II). But in 2003, the park’s name was changed to U.S. Cellular Field. And in 2017, it was changed to its present name, Guaranteed Rate Field.

A Word to the Wise
While most of these venues tend to attract Chicago White Sox fans on game day, there are no guarantees.
First of all, not all baseball games are shown. And even when they are, sometimes they won’t turn on the sound. Other times, they might show other events. And there is always the chance the venue might be booked for special events.
Also, fans sometimes migrate to other venues. And bars sometimes close.
Therefore, you should always call ahead to make sure that the game you want to watch will be broadcast.
